Description:
A Colloquy launching the publication "Heritage and Beyond" was held in Lisbon (Portugal) on 20 November at the Gulbenkian Foundation. The Colloquy was organised by the Council of Europe, the "Centro Nacional de Cultura" and the Institute for the Management of the Architectural and Archaeological Heritage (IGESPAR) with the support of the Gulbenkian Foundation. It brought together Ministers of Culture, parliamentarians, academics and high-level experts to discuss the contribution of cultural heritage to the progress of society as highlighted in the Faro Convention. The Convention, recently ratified by Portugal, requires two more ratifications to enter into force. Over 200 participants attended.
