Description: 'Tracking the reel world' presents the results of a study on audiovisual collections undertaken in the framework of the TAPE project. Based on data collected from hundreds of organizations from all over Europe, most of them archives, libraries, museums (and research) institutes that hold audiovisual recordings as minority collections, this is the first extensive report on preservation and access of sound and moving image materials outside the broadcasting sector and large audiovisual archives.

Abstract/Resumen:
De los primeros "reparadores" de obras artísticas a la figura actual del profesional en conservación y restauración de Bienes Culturales, distan muchos años de experiencia y especialización en el tratamiento de las pinturas sobre lienzo. La estructura global del libro permite conocer a fondo lección a lección, cada uno de los estratos que componen las pinturas con soporte textil. Se estudian cada una de estas partes tanto de una forma técnica como desde el punto de vista conservativo, conociendo sus posibles patologías y factores de deterioro. Igualmente se realiza una revisión histórica de la evolución ideológica y metodológica que ha ido sufriendo la intervención de las obras sobre lienzo, ya que resulta muy importante conocer la evolución de los tratamientos restaurativos y conservativos iniciales, para comprender el por qué de los materiales y métodos empleados en la actualidad.
